Bill has over 30 years of experience running his own businesses in sectors ranging from internet technology to production, automated systems, security, and process control protocols.

Prior to founding Delta 9 Bill worked in network development and engineering for one of Canada’s Big Six Banks. As Delta 9’s President/Chairman and Senior Person in Charge, Bill supervises research and development, design, construction of Delta 9’s Grow Pods and grow facilities, and day-to-day operations at the Winnipeg-based production facility.

John Arbuthnot founded Delta 9 with his father (Bill) in 2012 as a fourth year business student at the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba, where he came up with the concept of producing medical marijuana in Canada.

Over the past four years John has played an integral role in the development of all aspects of Delta 9’s operations. John’s focus as CEO is devoted to corporate strategy, financial planning, business development, and implementation of Delta 9’s modular growth strategy.

Jim Lawson has been the accountant/controller of Delta 9 Bio-Tech Inc. since the company’s inception in the fall of 2013. Prior to working with Delta 9 Jim worked for small public accounting firms for over 25 years. He has worked in the areas of First Nations audit, financial training and consulting as well as the preparation of financial statements, income tax and consulting for small businesses and personal income tax. He has served as a volunteer board member for numerous not-for-profit boards in the capacity of the treasurer.

Matthew Sodomsky, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), steers Delta 9’s long-term information technology plan. He holds a Master of Science in Medical Biophysics from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science and Business Administration from the University of Winnipeg.

Prior to joining Delta 9 Cannabis, Sodomsky was a Senior Software Developer at Manitoba eHealth where he led the development of large software applications for the healthcare sector. Previous to Manitoba eHealth he developed software for MRI systems at the National Research Council of Canada Institute for Biodiagnostics. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Sodomsky has run his own successful web and app development business for well over a decade. With 15+ years of experience in technology,  eCommerce and online business approaches, Sodomsky is a seasoned technical strategist.

Nitin Kaushal is a managing director in the Deals practice at PricewaterhouseCooper’s Corporate Finance Group. He has more than 25 years experience in the financial investing, life sciences, consumer healthcare, healthcare services and medical device industries.

Mr. Kaushal’s has sat on the board of numerous pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, and held senior roles in investment banking, venture capital and consulting firms. Brendan Wood International ranked Nitin as the Top Healthcare Investment Banker in 2008/2009.

Joanne Duhoux-Defehr is President of Triple D Developments, where she managed 1.5 million square feet of commercial and industrial buildings, including the Delta 9 site. Ms. Duhoux-Defehr earned a BA in Business Administration and a degree in Theology in the Netherlands, and a law degree from the University of San Francisco.

Ms. Duhoux-Defehr initially worked in the area of business litigation and intellectual property in the US as a member of the California bar. She currently sits on the board of several companies, and is a core founding member of the Delta 9 team.

Hugh Aird is currently Chairman of Balnagowan Investments. He has been a career Investment Banker having served as Chairman,Trilon Financial, Founder, Trilon Securities Corporation, and Vice Chairman , Merrill Lynch Canada and Edelman Canada. Mr. Aird has served on numerous public and private Corporate Boards of Directors.

He has completed many significant Merger and Acquisition opportunities as well as over 100 public financings throughout North America.”
